Session 3 Highlights
The UNA Houston Young Professionals Program continues to empower the next generation of leaders through interactive learning, meaningful connections, and professional development.
During Session 3 at the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Facility, participants strengthened essential career skills by:
- Expanding their professional networks
- Developing and refining their elevator pitches
- Learning about operations and workplace practices through a guided tour
- Exploring communication, perception, and inclusive leadership
- Participating in speed mentoring with experienced professionals
- Discovering opportunities to lead, volunteer, and make an impact in the community
The UNA Young Professionals Leadership Class did an outstanding job presenting innovative projects focused on turning the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals into local action. Their projects addressed issues ranging from ending poverty and advancing gender equality to promoting quality education, climate action, peace, justice, strong institutions, and sustainable communities, with a focus on how these challenges can be addressed right here in Houston. The presentations demonstrated thoughtful research, creativity, and a strong understanding that meaningful change begins within our own communities. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and leadership and of the practical ideas they presented to help make Houston a more equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and resilient city.
The enthusiasm, collaboration, and thoughtful discussions throughout the session demonstrated the power of investing in young professionals and creating spaces where future leaders can learn, connect, and grow.
