Women’s Day 2026
Celebrate International Women’s Day!
The United Nations Association-Houston Chapter will host the 2026 International Women’s Day Proclamation ceremony and commemoration reception at City Hall Legacy Room, 901 Bagby Street, downtown on March 6 at 11 am. City Hall will be lit purple at sundown.
Speakers will include distinguished women who hold leadership roles in public health, community safety, sports industry, and local government administration, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the discussion. A reception follows the ceremony. International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity with the year 2026 being pivotal as it marks the 106th anniversary of women’s suffrage. This year’s theme is “Rights, Justice, and Action”.
